Imperial. 75 year commemorative Handset painted ivory. Gold plated base. These come in various conditions. Most have some pitting in the original finish.

AE MONO RD/BASE
Monophone AE round base; bakelite. Western and Northern Electric made phones for the Bell system exclusively, others like Automatic Electric provided phones to the independents. The independents were always in styling contests with Western Electric. The round based Monophone is easily more elegant than the Western 202 counter part. Note the graceful banded handset. Rings.

WE/NE 202 OVAL W/E1 H/S
This was the very first of the designs for Western Electric by the famed designer and architect Henry Dreyfus, this was Mr. Dreyfus' version of a French phone that he saw in Europe. This phone was popular in the movies at the time, you may see Humphey Bogart as Sam Spade talking on one of these art deco delights.
